This year The Amalgamates will be performing as a duo whose repertoire draws from folk, jazz, bluegrass, pop, and southern US fiddle traditions. They’ll be inviting some special guests to join them.

Bassist Mark Murphy is one of the most versatile voices in acoustic music today. He’s performed on the Nashville Network, A Prairie Home Companion, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien as well as live performances with Pilobilus Dance Company and The Vanaver Caravan.

Banjo/Mandolin player Jeff Schmich is a founding member of The Brewflies and leader of the instrumental group Wolfgang’s Revenge. He lives on Long Island and in Westport.
