Virtual Lyceum: A Global History of Pandemics

The Grange turns INSIDE / OUT this fall to provide movies, lectures, music and more via Zoom and other digital platforms. To help keep everyone healthy, we’ll be presenting great programs that you can be part of wherever you are.

Lyceum lecture #1: Pandemics and human society have a long relationship. Andy Buchanan, UVM history professor and Grange board member, will discuss the impact of pandemics on social organization and culture. This long view will look at how societies changed and adapted as viruses spread through the world.

The Fall Lyceum lectures will be presented via Zoom. You can access them through your computer, smartphone, or by dialing in on a regular phone (audio only). You must register IN ADVANCE so we can email you the Zoom link. You can register for the entire series or for an individual lecture. We will record the lectures and make them available later if you can’t watch them live.

Click the button below to register for our virtual lectures.

There is no charge for the lectures. Your donation to support the Grange and our programs is greatly appreciated. Please go to the DONATE page to make a contribution. Thanks!
