THE TESTAMENT OF ANN LEE

Saturday, May 9
7:00

Special Guest: Theresa Frey-Alexander, curator of the “Ann Lee: One Woman’s Revolution” exhibition at the Shaker Heritage Society.

Ann Lee was an illiterate British blacksmith’s daughter who became one of this country’s pioneering feminists and founder of the devotional sect the Shakers. This movie is filled with astonishingly powerful songs and dances. It’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
